As someone who has been using Photoshop for a LONG time (I got my first copy in 2001, I think) - editing photos is one of my favorite parts of the gig. Manipulating pictures can be so fun and addicting. But its easy to get carried away too. Your eyes start playing tricks on you after awhile.

So there is definitely something to be said for a picture that looks good right out of the camera. Its difficult to accomplish, and even the most perfect pictures these days need that extra little "oomph". I'm trying to train my eye to see the more natural beauty and colors and not get carried away with the editing part of photography. Here's one of those lucky shots that just needed a little lightening, brightening and a slight tweak:
